VRangers One Day trek to Nakhind Near Vangni on 15th Sept 2013

‘Nakhind’ has a natural rock peak with a cavity in it at the top which is called 'Nedhe' or 'Nosehole; formed by natural erosion. Why is it called as Nakhind? Cause the hill has seems itself like a Human Nose. Nakhind is noted for its gentle slope and dense forest route.
The top is a narrow forested ridge, running in the north-south direction. From one side of Nakhind we can see Chanderi Pinnacle.This gentle hill is excellent for relaxed, easy walks and nature lovers. It’s a good trek in the monsoon or in the winter.

16.00 Hrs: -@ Base Village.(If time permits we will visit Vangani Waterfall)
17.00 Hrs: - Back to Vangni
18.30 Hrs: - @Thane
Here is a list of all the things that we need to carry for the trek:
Rains showers are expected, so pack your bags accordingly.
Compulsory items: Sunday Lunch.
A proper two sided haversack to put all the things, So that one has hands free while trekking, id proof, approx 3 ltr water, Torch with extra batteries, some snacks, Should ware good trekking shoes, full sleeve shirt/T-shirt & Full Pant, if you have any medical issue please carry your own medicine as we carry only First aid, carry some extra cloths.
Non-compulsory items but helpful:
Cap, Sunglasses, Woolen Jacket, Camera , Avoid wearing Gold and other jewelry  mosquito’s repellent, Electoral / Energy powder, 2 Lemon, & 2 plastic bags for weight distribution. (It’s totally self responsibility to take care of things.)

VRangers Eco tour to Satara - Kaas Pathar & thoseghar on 31st Ngt- 1st Sept 2013

Kaas Pathar is nestled in Sahaydri (Western Ghats), 25 kms away from Satara, Maharashtra (Western Ghats). It is located between 1200 - 1400 meters / altitude app 1000m AMSL and is surrounded by hillside coming alive with millions of colorful flowers. Kaas pathar throughout the year is barren due to the porous laterite rock, but rains come and the plateau is covered in a multitude of flowers, which last till September end. Kaas pathar overlooks the lush evergreen forests that serve as a water catchment area of Koyna Dam, Chandoli National Park and Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary was recently declared as "Sahyadri Tiger reserve".
With abundant rainfall, bright mountain sunshine and a high dew point, the lateritic table lands and gentle slopes of Kaas transform into riotous colored flower fields.This plateau is famous for its unique biosphere, high hill plateaus and grasslands. Kaas boost not only flowers like pink balsam, yellow sonki, purple karvi etc but also welcomes birds like Crested Buntings, Malabar Crested Larks, Oriental White-eyes, Bonelli’s Eagle.

Sajjangad (सज्जनगड) is located near the city of Satara, India. It is the final resting place of Sant Ramdas, a saint and social reformer in 17th century India (Born 1608). His teachings and works are read and followed by many people even today in the state of Maharashtra and Sajjangad is a popular place of pilgrimage

Thoseghar waterfall: It is a scenic spot located 20 km from Satara city, at the edge of the Konkan region. There are a series of waterfalls, some of them 15 to 20 meters and one of 500 meters in height. There is a newly constructed Platform to stand and take a good view of the waterfall.

VRangers 2013 first Monsoon one day trek to Ajoba hills on 1st Ngt & 2nd June.

The mountain is known to be one of the highest peaks in its range. Ajoba is famous for the Valmiki rishi ashram where goddess Sita was said to be staying after being separated from Lord Rama. A little ahead of the valmiki ashram is the lav-kush cave. They say Luv-kush's grandfather trained them here, hence the name Ajoba, which is grandfather in Marathi.

Trek: Ajoba Hills.
Type: Hill Fort.
Date: 1st Ngt & 02-06-2013.
Region: Shahapur
Height: 4511 ft.
Grade: Medium.
Last Date Of Reg : 30th May 2013.

The charges for the  trek are INR 400/- per head, which includes traveling from Asangaon to Asangaon by Local Transport Jeep/ST, breakfast & Lunch.
Rangers should get into this local from their respective stations with Asangaon Return ticket in Second last Compartment. From Asangaon we will reach the base village Dhene by Local Transport Jeep/ST/Tumtum.
